Ideal for toothbrush or mobile charging etc. Not capable of heavy duty stuff like hairdryer but I used it in the Dominican Republic. Not ideal if you travel on your baggage limit as it weighs the equivalent of a small house (1kg)

This step up voltage converter lasted all of 1 day. Cheap and nasty is the way I would describe it. I was using it to charge small appliances such as mobile phone / usb ipod / mini disc etc. It just quit working. AVOID at all costs.

May be useful but check what you want to plug into it. This works up to 45 watts (volts x amps) so don't even think about using it for hairdryers, straighteners etc or it will burn out in seconds. Even my laptop power supply is 360 watts but this works on 100-230V so must have its own step up converter. If you check you'll find that some things you take on holiday (eg phone chargers etc) may already work if plugged into a 110V supply.

I bought this to use with my hairdryer but it short circuited it on first use. If you need it for converting an item that does not need a lot of electricity I would imagine that it is good as it is a good size. However if you need it for a hairdryer or anything similar I would steer clear of it.

Although a little on the heavy side the Step up voltage converter proved invaluable on a recent trip to the US. I had tried using a conventional travel charger in the past which had failed to work with my mobile phone. This time I needed something reliable to charge my laptop and the voltage converter was perfect. I also used it with a portable DVD player and again it worked great. Oh, by the way, it was inexpensive too. Highly recommended.
